Now that General Community Quarantine is underway, people can go out again. Still, some may feel hesitant to go to a public place with the virus still going around. But at Shangri-La Plaza, strict safety protocols are followed to make sure everyone enjoys a warm welcome to their favorite mall. With the cooperation of tenants and mall guests, the #ShangCommunity continues to be #StrongerTogether.

At the Shang’s restaurants, only a few people are allowed at a time to ensure that the venue is never congested. Only 50% of a restaurant’s maximum capacity can be occupied, ensuring that everyone can practice social distancing. Before entering, each customer is required to get their temperature taken, wipe their shoes on a sanitization mat, and use hand sanitizer. Digital payment options are also available.

In Café Lyon, Cibo, and Mesa, diners can order hands-free with digital menus. All customers need to do is scan a QR code with their smartphone, bringing up the restaurant’s menu on their screens. At Cibo, diners are even given a single-use paper holder to put aside their face masks as they eat. At Brotzeit and Café Lyon, acrylic safety shields are set up on every table, and diners must file a health declaration form to keep track of their exposure.

The Shang’s fashion brands are also taking measures to make shopping as safe as possible . When fitting clothes, customers are provided with a special clothes sanitizer. Afterward, these clothes are steamed. Disposable foot covers are also available when trying on shoes, while the SSI Group of Shoes Brands provides disposable socks for fitting. Some brands even store items that have been fitted for 48 hours to make sure that no germs are passed on.

Meanwhile, beauty brands further limit contact between people. Shoppers at Rustan’s must keep at least 2 meters apart. At Bobbi Brown, makeup testers are suspended to avoid contamination. Dior has put a stop to all beauty services, including makeovers, facials, and hand massages.

With such strict protocol put in place, shoppers at the Shang can have peace of mind knowing that their surroundings are safe. In an era of social distancing, dining and shopping can still hold their little pleasures.
